Getting Closer to being Legal.

I didnt like the way the caps on the end turned out.
So I cut em off and redid em.
Also the cool shackle mounts I made in this pic. first ones blew..
they had 45 deg angles where these are rounded.

The title points out that I am running around without a front bumper..

I am always offended when someone has better tools than I do. Coupled with your superior fabrication skills, you are on my $hit list.

Everything you are doing looks too good.

Best,

its not all as grim as it seems

The lathe and the bridgeport belong to my employer.
So the nice tools aren't mine.
As for the Fabrication Skills. mine arent that great.. i simply
do the task at hand as many times as it takes for it to make happy with the outcome
Thanks for the compliment :grinpimp:

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel

Got the new winch mount cut out today (warn 8000 Belview)
The old one was in good shape just hand a 3/4 x 2" notch
cut in it.
I will mark it up and put in the dont use pile.. you never know when you are gonna need it or measurements from it.

Stuffed the nice CnC milled recovery bars in and welded em up.

Mounted the fairlead I doctored up in previous posts.

Do you think I need to make a huge rectangular washer to
under Allen head screws that mount it.. to spread out the load on a greater area of the aluminium fairlead mount.

note: those screws wont be staying. I gotta find some kinda plated allen head capscrew.. Black oxide will rust eventually.

Your work shows you to be a "skillful perfectionist". And I wish I had access to that sort of equipment.

:crybaby: I'm as jealous as!

As stated in my last post here is a pic to esplain

I don't know if it is really necessary, but in the interest of tending to overengineer things I myself would use a large rectangular washer such as you suggest. Just for peace of mind if nothing else.
