I am wondering if you have to disconnect the barrier btwn the fixed window the roll-up window?

Be careful of those fasteners up top, they look dainty. You might want to get some replacements when you get the originals out.

The front door window changed around '76 or so, I don't think rear doors changed at all. Do you have to remove the fixed window to get the big glass back in?

I will go look later today, I couldn’t see how the fixed widow would come out yesterday.

I think you can leave the fixed window there, I think the barrier needs to move, or come out.
I probably wrote a lot of boring words about it in my build thread.

I tried to remove the barrier. The top two screws stripped out and one of the bolts in the bottom snapped off.

I will be going back later and drill out the screws in the top of the frame.

I will be reading through it and see what has to be done

I just pulled a rear door apart not long ago. If the felt backers are removed, it gives the window the extra room it needs to come out.
I went back tonight and tried to install the window again. I removed the felt backers, and what was left of the window runs and I still couldn’t get the window in. I just don’t understand how the window can go in the hole without the barrier coming out. My plan at this point is to drill out the two screws at the top of the barrier.

Yeah, give it a try. That lower portion of the removable channel probably needs to pivot out of the way. You’re correct that it cannot be in that channel as you’re removing and installing.
