Dang you already putting it together? They dropped mine off at my work here in menifee but i gotta wait ill i get off work to play with it :(

I know this sounds pervish...:p:p but man I love those "RACKS"!

But unfortunately the :princess: has put a $0 limit on anything geared towards the 80 outside of repairs...:bang:

I guess I can window shop on the web and watch you guys build your rigs...:meh:

The INTI will have to sit in the box for a few days. I still need to remove the OEM rack and prep the roof. I'm stoked about getting it mounted though....:D

Very nice!

For what smelled as a potential internet scam in the beginning, I am so happy this vendor has come thru and delivered on these most excellent racks! Now if he's pony up and purchase a vendor silver star and support the board he's selling thru! Ok - hijack off.

How do you plan to plug the nutserts? Fingers crossed that none of them spin on you. Soak those bastards with some PB Blaster for a couple of days.

All my nutserts come out just fine....I checked them out after I ordered the rack.

Not sure which method I'm going to use to plug them. I need to go back thru the threads and re-visit the different techniques.

I might just screw them back in and JB weld the heads:meh:

I used some allen head screws to flush mount them. Some loctite red would be a good idea, but the top of mine are held in place with the Durabak I finished my roof off with. Perhaps some clear silicone? Several old threads in the 80's section on various methods of sealing those little buggers depending on how clean you want to make them look.

Ya...makes sense to wait until I get the INTI together before I yank the old rack off. If it fits with the old rack...great...if not, I can cross that bridge then.

I like the allen head, locktite, silicone idea.

If yo get yours done before me let me know how that goes. I thought when i placed my order juan asked if i had the factory rack or not so he could get the right height mounts. If its all the same height then even better cause my screws dont wanna come off without a fight. :(

The Build

I decided to stay home today and get the rack put together.

The legs length changes when you have the original rack (they are longer and therefor the rack is higher). With this legs you have to remove the original rack.

Post pictures of the rack on your LC

And enjoy it a lot!!! thanks for your business

I soaked the roof rack screws for a few hours and all but one came loose. Its somewhere floating in my headliner after i dremeled it off. The installer forgot to use the adhesive so i just had to clean the mud. Only had a little rust around two nutserts :D. I hope to have mine put together and mounted tomorrow. Did the rack require any extra hardware like rivets or were they supplied? i havent taken it out of the plastic yet to check.

Everything is included, you only need the tools.
