Yeah, maybe about 1-2". Little added strength can't hurt and it will also block some of the light coming from the light rack the further back it is.

Ya me too..I moved it back a couple of inches.
Dave - did you use locktite on the threads? Thinking of replacing them with self locking nuts?????

I'm finding that I don't like the wind noise at highway through the Inti mesh grill. Since most all my off highway driving is in the desert, the mesh grill doesn't make much sense.
I'm considering removing the mesh to reduce wind noise (but keep all the metal tube). Anyone else try this?
