Optima are still all-go online:

OPTIMA: http://www.optimabatteries.com/en-us/find-a-battery/?year=2005&make=Toyota&model=4Runner&engine=V6 4.0L&find_button=Search

AUTOZONE: http://www.autozone.com/autozone/pa...N-jnhtxZacy27?itemIdentifier=605893_140114_0_

It would be weird to see them just stop, I was under the impression they were still big sellers, and they have a TON of brand equity and name recognition. If Exide wants top push Gel, I'd expect them to come out with an "Optima-Gel" line or something similar.

^^^^Do you find that you don't use it that often? Just wheel mostly with the 529's as the only reduction
No I use it often. At f&f I only use it on the more technical stuff were I need the most control. Most times I will only be using 3.1 reduction instead of the full low low. Sometimes I will have it completely disengaged.

I might make it to some trail runs this year. My truck is done and I am driving it. I was plagued by several small issues (intermittent blinkers, fuel smell, alt not charging) but I worked them all out last week and she drives great. I still need to get the timing adjusted. The first mechanic I called in my town no longer has a timing light. o_O

When I tried to actually buy an Optima through the Autozone website it popped an alert when I got to the shopping cart that the item was no longer available. 2 other random parts places locally said they cant get them either.

COOL TRUCK - It's a Toyota, so no worries on miles!

Holy s*** that's the worst "show" car I have ever seen. Fire hazard. Sucked if it rains.
