The dude needs a brass hammer.

1) He thought there was supposed to be a shim on the lower knuckle arms, but I think the shims are only on the upper knuckle cap. He never removed the upper knuckle cap.

2) He doesn't recess the inner axle seal at all. I would think the seal needs to be recessed relative to machined surface next to it, otherwise the back of the birfield will hit the seal.

3) On the backside of the knuckle, he doesn't show which way the rubber gasket should face, as it has a direction. The ridge should bite into the felt.

4) I also didn't see him put on the thrust washer as well, but the outer axle nut barely has any threads showing.

I am not sure why, unless he didn't properly seat the hub on the spindle.

The axle clip barely fits as well. It appears tight against the drive flange.

I think he didn't fully seat the bearings, which is why the rotor appears to sticks out from the dust shield. This could be just camera perspective...

I had three. One split between the birfs, repacked with the frosting bag method (axles removed), and one each to pack the knuckles after reinstalling birfs.
Thanks, I like the frosting bag approach as I am likely to swap sides in this project.

While not a "mistake" , technically, i did get a giggle out of watching him struggle with that axle seal for what was probably half an hour in real time. I have never encountered an axle seal that took more than 10 seconds to remove with a 3-jaw slide hammer.

there was someone here on mud who had issues with a seal failing and when he took it apart, someone had pried against the lip too hard and distorted that area. When I saw car care nut not using a jaw style puller, that is how it failed. Even the FSM calls out using the SST which is a 2 prong slide hammer.

When I did mine (using OTRAMM as my guide) along with reading the FSM, I chose the puller method with a slide hammer, and mine were also original to from 1994.
