No gun talk for almost three months so posting a photo of my customized 10/22. Just put that new Vortex 2-7 scope on replacing a truly antique Weaver 1.5. Now I've got to get it sighted in.

I was researching scopes for my Ruger Scout Rifle and had posted and got an answer about a special custom made scope that sounded just right several months ago. But today I could not find the source. I did a google search and a couple hours of hunting turned up SWFA.com. They stock rifle scopes that are built to their specs and they are the only source. The example I was considering is not even listed on Leupold's website but they stock two variations. Anyway it might be a good source if your looking for that odd or unusual piece of shooting gear.

Probably not fancy enough for this thread, but just returned from what I'm calling my 9-1-1 hunting season. Nine days, one bullet, one elk. Simple old Featherweight 30,06. Pretty muddy Pig though.

Congratulations. Aren't pigs supposed to be muddy? ;)

One shot, one kill is the way it is supposed to be done .... Congrats on filling the freezer ...

Thanks. Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good. There's a reason it's called hunting instead of getting.

Finally made my choice on a scope for my Ruger GSR Scout rifle. I went down to Sportsmans WH to check what they had in stock. They graciously trial fitted a Leupold 2.5 IER on a Ruger GSR with quick release bases and it looked so good I bought it.

On my travels, I normally stop at a few Outdoor/gun shops along the way to stretch my legs and see what is on the market. In Casper, Wyoming, I saw for the first time a reference to the "new" laws regarding Colorado's restrictions regarding ammunition capacity. As to firearms purchase in another state you are restricted by Colorado Statute as if purchasing in Colorado. As to magazines, you may purchase high capacity magazines legally, but the instant you cross back into Colorado you are a criminal. It's just the first time I've seen this warning posted since the "new" laws have been passed.

Had to leave my LC-9 in Yuma while in Mexico. Getting it back tomorrow. Feel naked without it.
