The Fixx was dead on with the lyrics "one thing leads to another". My desert find darling continues it's trek to health.
The top of the gear box and transfer case were coated and dirty. Cleaning revealed rust free bits. Hour after hour of of using tiny tools, brushes and a light touch so as not to the scratch the metal.
Then on to the center hump for a good scrub, primer and a coat of paint. Very time consuming to try and do it right.
The clean up will take many more months as I can't do more than two hours a day cuz I'm old and funky. Hell, I'm not sure it runs but I can't stand working on dirty oily hobby cars.
