The 60 series springs are way huskier than the 40 series if you happen to know where to find a set:rolleyes::lol:.

Ford 150 and Jeep Wagoneer springs are popular choices for the rear on the FJ40, both will kick the rear axle back a bit and give a better departure angle.

Just out of curiosity...what years could you use?

I'd have to search IH8Mud for specifics.

Dont worry about it...Ill find em.
Just thought you might know off the top of your head and save the search...

Hey Dan,
Sorry:frown: to hear about your springs. I have a stock front set you are welcome to. I also have a complete set of the 2/2 1/2 inch lift springs for sale for 100.00 bucks. Specter sells them new for 300.00+. They worked well for me but I switched to some 55 springs in the rear to move the axle back for better departure angle on my DL after I put my crawler box in. On Sat. I just went back to stock springs on the front to level the beast; so now I have the whole set . I still have to see if it is level and all angles are still good when I get it back together(waiting for my new U-bolts and bushings) and then they are available. I would still like to hear how you did that. Air??

Well not air just putting to much torq on the front axle with all the weight of the rig on it crawling through a crevice at moon rocks made it through but bent the springs had alot of fun doing though so its all good

Dan :cheers::steer::bounce::bounce2:

Crevices are always fun. :p We had a fun BCNN activity at Moon Rocks a few years back. I love that place. Your still welcome to those stock springs. Doing the shackle rev. should strenghten your front end alot.:bang:

hey i appreciate the offer but i think im going with 60 front springs on it but i might take you up on that anyway give me a call 775-530-4292

Why do you want hydro?

Why do you want hydro?

Maybe he means hydro assist??? I've heard a few people say that the 60 series conversion is a little weaker and the pump doesn't keep up all that great...??? I don't know for sure....all I know is the 40 I'm picking up steers like a DREEEEAAAAAMMM!!!!

The PS on my 60 does bring the suck at low RPM's. If we keep that boat I'll have to do something about that.

My 40 with the Saginaw steering conversion does not need Hydro assist. In fact I have the whole PSC ram assist set up and have never installed it. My concern is that I'll put to much stress on the steering arms and break a knuckle, that and the fact that not being able to crank the wheels with the current set-up has never been an issue.

I have a lot more money to spend on other stuff before not having Hydro assist is a limiting factor.:lol:

That's the general facts that I hear from most folks. 60 series pumps can't keep up, saginaw is a beast!

Hey Rusty did you sya you have a hydro assist set up if would be interested in parting with it if so give me a call 775-530-4292 and yes thats what i meant is a hydro assist
