I drove in this morning (25miles) and went to back it up and it stumbled. I pulled forward & tried it again and it stalled while backing up. I quickly pulled my code reader and all is good!?.
It’s just over 130k and I had it serviced at Toyota, all oils changed new air cleaner etc.etc.
Any suggestions?

Could you be more specific? Did it start up ok and run after that or is it dead?

It started right up w/ a slight idle problem and then is smoothed out. The code reader showed all is good. I haven’t driven it since then but will post what happens on the way home.

Tps

Battery been disconnected recently?

Any updates?

I'm curious what it could be since you've already changed TPS/APS a little while back.

Was your foot on the brake when it stalled? Is the truck idling lower than normal?

Tad, I ended up only using the new TPS. The APS did nothing. This symptom is a little different that what was previously happening- and the other threw a code. No code on this one.

This happened again the other day, exactly the same time and place. I get to my work pull in, turn right & stop to back up, and after I shift into reverse it stalls while giving it gas. Still no codes!

Do you think this could cause this? I haven’t cleaned this yet because I don’t like using carb cleaner on the TB- it tends to dry out the seals. I need to know if it’s ok to just reach in and open the TB using my fingers. I don’t want to mess up the TB motor.
Thanks,
Dean

Yes, my foot is on the brake. Not sure if the idle is lower than normal- you really cant hear this thing running! But I’ll try to pay attention to the idle more.

Don't go to work! I had a problem with my Dodge ( no comparison here) sort of the same thing, the brains of the dealership never could resolve that issue. It would run rough after I got off of the interstate and get into slow traffic at interchanges, never stalled though. Almost like it didn't want to "adjust" to the lower speed/rpm.
