I just heard from Jim. He's about 4 hours from West Palm.
He broke a leaf spring on the trailer. It's tree saver strapped
now from the axle to the frame and holding for about 300 miles so far.
He ain't worried, he's BTDT before. ;) He'll check in when he's safe at home.
Ohm....cruiser,cruiser,cruiser....Ohm

Well, sounds like he took a lesson from that J**P on the trail that whacked his front suspension and put it together with duct tape, a log, and a tow strap. Go Capt'n!

That J**p spring was truly a getto fab job! A "C" clamp was also in the mix.
It did pass them by on the way down #12 for sure. ;)

Good to hear he is making progress.

We made it back no problem. We found the most disgustingly lost, dirty, and hurt dog I have ever seen and she has taken on the task of rehabbing her.

The 80 has leaks in the front axle, toasted axles in the rear, and some sort of oil leak. I guess that hill didn't like me very much! :)

Good job on the poor dog. Ya'll have hearts of gold and it shows.
You Sir, are fearless in that 80! It sure was nice to meet this Ga crowd.

The avocado will return...I just hope it will be with upgraded rears, fronts, new 6" springs, 37" Iroks, and double beadlocks.

I will go up that damn hill.

Home at 11:45 PM. 13.5 hrs. which included trailer axle spring repair, 1 hour nap while listening to the Bears/Seatle game, and a blowout on one of my trailer tires 1 hour from home. Total round-trip miles 1658, not including the 175 miles trying to find the cabin saturday night. All, well worth it. Had a blast!

Good news indeed! Heck it wouldn't be a Road to Murphy trip
without some trailer mishap. :grinpimp:

Only about 3 more hours from here. Right Jim? Inside joke. In Jim's world, once you get out of Florida, it's only about 3 hours to Jim's cabin in SC, or about 3 hours to Tellico, or about 3 hours back to Palm Beach, or about 3 hours to...

Keeps the crew happy and un-informed. And NEVER let them have the compass or sextant. :D
