Well, you might not have noticed, but I just got my 10 year sticky on MUD. Thought I might share how it happened, and the kindness of the members.
First off, if you don't know me already, I keep about everything, nothing goes in the trash, including emails.
Here is an email chain from a few days over 10 years ago.
First I sent an email to someone named Erik and another yahoo named Alan: @tornadoalleycruiser @Chef

Subject: TORNADO ALLEY CRUISERS
Good Labor Day to ya!
I have been dreaming of getting a 70's fj40 and finally I am about ready to take the plunge. I thought it might be smart to get some advice from people in the area of what I should look for. I am not scared of building a cruiser, but I know it usually is better(more affordable) to find one 75% done and finish it.
At any rate, do you all have meetings or events here in KC? I am in Lenexa.
Thanks for your time,
Kelly

it is the club section for the tornadoalleycruisers.. When you get closer to purchasing an FJ40 please feel free to ask questions and someone can assist you with your purchase. If you want to check out local trucks etc please feel free to holler and or come over and ask away.. I'm localish to you in Blue Springs.. 913-486-xxxx is cell/home.
Yes it is easier to get one approximately done if done correctly.
Many thanks to Erik and Alan (and the many others) for advice given back then, and continuing today.
Without folks like you to teach us and show us how to treat members like family and to have an inclusive club, this would not be the same.
Yours in Land Cruisering,
Kelly
