After CM08 I had Drew take the FJ for a spin as I was hearing a ticking noise in the drive train along with a faint whine when decelerating. Long story short; Toyota is is replacing the entire 3rd member. Two teeth chipped of the ring gear. June 06 build model and known to have issues. Want to thank Drew as this old farts hearing isn't what it used to be and Kudos to Toyota for doing the right thing.

Got off relatively easy, it made it home, didn't strand you.
Jim, I was going to ask you what they found. Glad to see everything worked out.
I got home and took my truck into Toyota to have the body rips documented and logged for warranty... apparantly it was the first time the dealership had seen them... I also asked them to check my rear diff and see if I could get it changed under warranty before it broke. They checked the diff and didn't find anything wrong with it so they would not replace it
... I'm just hoping it dosn't fail on the trail.
