So, FB Marketplace has become a new addiction...

I found set of 285/65/18 with 70% tread I can get for $250

then I found a set of 325/65/18 @70% for about $350

I think the 325 will be too big for stock wheels/suspension, but will the 285's fit?

Is it worth it, or should I wait for my lift?

i have the 285's and i love them, good tread life, low road noise. I just lifted mine, and now they look a little small, but I will be replacing with the larger versions.
They do rub a little bit on a full lock turn, but nothing to bad, and its been a tolerable concession to the lack of road noise.

Just one person's opinion that's worth what it costs you, but.......unless you confidently know their history, I would steer clear of used tires. There are just too many ways tires can be abused and they are such a critical link in overall safety. I just don't think it's worth the risk.

Check the DOT code to see when they were manufactured. The last four digits tell the week and year. 2 years old would be my limit. Shine a light inside each one to check for repairs. Mark your starting point with chalk. Pull a rag around the inside of the tire to snag any possible punctures.

Overall appearance should tell if they have been abused like hard scuffs on the sidewall or chunks of rubber out of the tread.
Did the seller buy them new?

I have the 285's and they look good on the LC . No rubbing with or without spacers on mine.

"%" remaining on used tires is usually an overestimate. Terra grapplers are pretty reasonable new, not sure it's worth the risk.

Don't buy used tires. Only thing connecting your truck to the road.

Best opinion yet. Used, let the buyer beware. No warranty and why sell a good tire?

Haha, everybody rides on used tires. Just a matter of how old they are and where they have been.
