I'm in the middle of installing a new head unit and since its the first time i've ever done this I wanted to ask a couple questions to make sure I do it all right. Here are the two directions for wiring splicing that I want to check on: (Red) to electric terminal controlled by ignition switch (12 V DC), and (Orange/White) to lighting switch terminal. Where are the best places to splice into these? Thanks

I was just thinking, could I splice into the cigarette ligher for the ignition one and for the light one could I splice into the light lead that goes into the clock that tells the clock when the lights are on?

both of those are availalbe from the stock radio plug, they sell plug in harnesses for doing this

I'm going without a harness b/c I'm bypassing the factory amp. My hu is a gps unit as well so I've also had to run some other wires to the parking brake, speed sensor, and reverse wires but these last two that i've asked about are the only two that I have left. Coud I just splice into the wires from the original harness though without those plugs being plugged in?
