The cost to replace the resistive touchscreen display is in the 3,000-4,000 dollar range, https://www.lexuspartsnow.com/parts-...tml?PNC=86804A (part 86110-60190) so I was looking for a tempered glass protector. These are great, they really work to protect screens from impact damage, and typically offer hardness, very high transparency and oleophobic coatings. I use them on all my phones and tablets.

The standard resistive screen is plastic and has a spongy feel. In addition to offering protection and distributing the force of any impact, the screen now feels like a glass screened tablet which I prefer.

There are small openings for the speaker+sensor and home button. Not really that noticeable in use. The first glass protector I ordered was too large, but after some measuring I found the Samsung T210/T211 7" tablet is the perfect size. You have to factor in the total size of the tempered glass and not the tablet display, and the dimensions for this tablet are very close to the dimensions of the screen I measured, in millimeters. For LC 200 crew, I used dimensions on www.GSMarena.com to find a 7" tablet I thought would be a match for my measurements.

This seller has them for the best price on ebay. About 4.30 when you order 2.

Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector for SAMSUNG GALAXY Tab 3 7.0 T211 T210 | eBay

This will fit any LX between 2008 and 2015.

So far I feel it's a definite improvement after using it for a few days. Originally I ordered 1 to see if it would fit. After using it, I ordered a pair of glass protectors for $4.30. I am going to try the glass reversed on the other side after looking at the size of the border around the screen, should be a better match.

Also, this glass could not be more than 1mm larger in any direction except for the small spaces in the rounded corners.

Plenty of glare on the standard plastic screen so no issue there.

The advantage of the tempered glass over a film is to be a replaceable part that absorbs an impact, or in the case of a phone, both impact and scratches.

Correct, if you have ever dropped your smartphone and the display hits, with a film on the screen its toast, with tempered glass you have a very solid if not definite change of peeling off the tempered glass and adding new one with zero damage. Its cheap insurance.
