My temperature guage is not working after replacing and installing a new Fuel Regulator, Fuel Filter, and Fuel Dampener. What could I have done? It is just pegged at the bottom now.

Thank you for any advice.

On a good note, the engine is running smooth and seems to have more power.

Maybe. Too sound as utterly knuckleheaded as I am, where is the probe and sending wire? I'm new to working on this and am trying to learn.

Thank you for your fast reply

Well, I've been through both of my books and I can't find where this sender and probe are. Does anyone have a photo of it?

Thank you for any help, it is greatly appreciated.

Ok, I am a nitwit. I took it by a shop and they found a little hose that had been disconnected from the pipe right next to my radiator. Neither they nore I have any idea what it does. But sadly, my temp guage still does not work. Hmm. I wish I had a blue print showing what all the pipes and wires were. Is there one out there? If I made one, unlabeled, could this be something useful for the board if we then labeled it? I'm a software developer and could actually make a little program. Hmm.

The sender is on top of the head, back towards the firewall. In the picture below, the stock sender is the sender in the foreground, my after market gauge sender is in the stock hole towards the firewall. Look for a spade connector without a wire on it on top of the head.

There appear to be a misunderstanding here....

The OP did not specify what model or vintage Cruiser he is working on... or what engine....

Since he posted in the '6x series forum and he references replacing the fuel pressure regulator and damper, I am going to assume it is an FJ62. With a 3FE.

The temperature gauge sending unit is in the thermostat housing, not in the head.

Mark...

Ok! I'm sorry on that, I think I got flustered. It is an FJ62 3FE.

Do you, by any lucky chance, have a photo or can point me in the direction of a diagram or photo to figure out where this is?

The book I have does not actually have a photo of where the thermostat is.

I bet your assumption is correct. I should have caught regulator and dampener, those certainly aren't needed on a 2F.

I don't have a picture, but follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator, and it will lead you to the thermostat housing.

Front of the head. Upper radiator hose attaches to it.

Thank you! That worked perfectly! The sending wire was barely attached. I just plugged it in more and the temp guage works again! Thank you all for your assistance!
