I have a 1HZ diesel with intermittent problems.

After a long trip, the engine lost power at anything above 2000 RPM. However, if I shut the engine off for a couple of minutes, it runs fine for about 10 minutes. Then it looses power and won't exceed 2000 rpm without alot of coaxing.

This really seems like a fuel restriction. Does anyone have any suggestions about what kind of problem would be intermittent like this??? I've replaced the fuel filter and blown compressed air back through the fuel line.

Sry to hear that
Most of us are from the U.S.A and we don’t have 1HZ,
but I think you should check your fuel pump I think it’s on the last leg of its life or your injectors . you can post this on 70 series or 80series as well there are more diesel owners there
good luck

any black smoke .?

It's reving just well without load .? ( N )

How many miles on that engine ..? last time you service injectors ..?

you will have more responses in the diesel section ..

No black smoke.

I've got about 190000 KM (maybe - I don't trust odometer) I've only owned the vehicle for a few months so I don't know it's service history.

Thanks for help!
