Shi**y american cars, greedy banks, greedy lenders, G. Bush and Obama.
well I don`t the details of Downey`s down fall but would put my money on poor management rather that the rest of the world but with that said

GREED is a universal failure of man and usually is the root cause on all great nations past and present.

Downey was a victim of the system. They had to shut down their business a few months ago. Pretty sad, they were always good to me and very helpful.:frown:

Yea I was sorry to hear that. They had good products for the Toy community for many years. I'd like to know who's going to buy them out so I can look at the cable setup they had for the e-lockers.

Maybe the club should pitch in and buy it who better to run it lol :hmm:

You front the money and I'll quit my day job and work for you :D

Sound to me that every body need a new job. For larry he has to to many jobs If he quit one he will have one more to lean on:D

HHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAa, i think they would say it very loud and clear i presume, ima just go ahead and say if it did fly that would be a top 5 job, maybe even top 3

Larry, how is the lift on your 80 set up? In particular, what springs are you running? When I took it for a ride that day, I went over some parking lot speed bumps and they really sucked the bumps up. They felt alot better than the springs I had on my FJ Cruiser. When I went over a speed bump in the FJC the rear end always wanted to fly up.

I have a mix of parts trying to get it where I want it. 80's are different becasue everytime you gain or shed weight the ride height changes with coils. If I were to do it over I'd just order a kit. I like Frankies kit "FOR" 3inch, and Slee's 4 inch Kit. I have a heavy front with ARB and 12lb winch, int the rear I have no weight spares gone and no bumper yet so I got 5 1/2 inches of lift with just the 864 heavies. :meh:

What I have gives me 5 inches of lift up front, and 5 1/2 rear
OME 850J's and 2 inch Metaltech spacers up front
OME 864 Heavies in the rear
Manafre 4 inch control arm brackets for caster correction
Slee rear panhard and their front and rear stabalizer drop kits
Slee front double cardan driveshaft

What I still need Slee's control arms and front panhard.

A few 80's here https://forum.ih8mud.com/80-series-tech/218093-80-series-registry-13.html

Does anyone have any idea what the specs are on the gas tank "Bungs" for a FJ55 (1973) ? I would like to put a valve at the fuel line in front of my electronic fuel pump to make it easier to change the filter. That, and I am thinking that the 3/8 hose that will be going onto the current outlet (bung) will be too big to fit.

I wouldn't have thought you had heavies in the rear. They felt very good on the speed bumps compared to the FJC with the swayaway springs. I guess the SAWs were just overkill. I always suspected that OME springs would have been fine for the FJC, after I had already put on the SAW kit. I think they would be fine for the LX also, but the kits seem to take care of all the additional issues that crop up.

I have been looking at the kits too, Slee 4" and FOR 3". They are comparable in price. It will be awhile before I am ready to do anything though.

I thought you were going to sale that 40 Brian:lol:

Oh, it's for sale Mike, but I haven't had any bites yet. I'm talking about the lift for my LX here. I am going to build it up as time and money permit.

I've been on this job in West Texas for the last 3 weeks, trying to drill 700' of hole. That's not good progress hehe.

Who should I go to for an alignment in Lafayette? I want to get Hysteer in the near future but I've decided that my alignment is bad enough that I need to go ahead and take it to someone.

I am getting a bad vibration. Thought it was alignment but that has been done. I just rotated the tires tonight too. I am getting it even when coasting with the clutch in. 45-65. Sounds like I am next to someone with subwoofers that are hitting a quarter note on beat 1 of a 4-4 timed measure.

C Travis at straight line in Scott 235-5463

knows his sheet:)

and honest to boot

Is everyone back now?

I don't know, now it seems like it is motor related as it vibrates more when I give it a little throttle. I don't feel it in the sticks though. I don't really hear anything different, just feel it. If it was a motor mount, I would feel it in the sticks right?
