Is it carbed? Maybe idle solenoid? Like as in your truck thinks it is upside down.

I don't think so. i have a Webber on the truck and the only thing it has fancy at all is an electric choke. As long as the fuel pump is supplying fuel, and the engine is sucking it down, it is supposed to just keep on keeping on. I am about to go pull my idle jets and make sure they are still clear, might step them up a size while I am at it because it pulls hard as hell driving down the road, just wont idle at all.

John gave me the idea of converting the whole operation over to propane so we will see :D. it is not like I drive it that far from the house anyway, a pair of 10 gallon tanks, and fill up the Propane tank at my grandmothers at a bulk rate and I would be set, never have to worry about flooding out on a hill again :grinpimp:... just need to find the grand the conversion would cost..

P.S. No meeting??? BBBAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW:crybaby: Aww guys it is just a huge hurricane, How bad can it be? Hurricane party!?

Hey, I moved this here b/c I thought we could continue here... I think the conversion will be about $1,000 total. Ebay prolly best place for tanks etc.. on the cheap.

When I was looking for tech info for the Troopy.. this place is actually pretty decent: Propane Conversion Kits

....and if any luck I'm hoping to be drinking a beer at BWW on Sunday

Oh so THATS what happened to it. I thought I had dreamed posting this :D.

I got the beast running pretty decent till I thought the truck was catching fire on the way home ;)

Does anyone know the specs on the bolt that tightens down the distributor on a 22R? the one to the rear of the block, it is blowing oil and blowby through the empty hole where the bolt once was. (right onto my exhaust manifold)

Running like s*** like it is missing and sputtering? Did you pull the air filter to see if it sucked any water/trash up in it? if it did might have messed up your Mass airflow sensor... not really very good with the computer controlled trucks, I am sure that thing has a coil for each plug as well, posibly take a timing light and just use it make certain each plug is recieving fire and that none of the electical connectors got wet, a little WD40 is usually pretty good for drying otu electricla connectors in a pinch.

outside of that I dont knwo what to suggest. just how deep of water is "to much"?

Yeah.. U haul is kinda stupid with their weights. they said my 4runner was heavy to be towed by my 1987 chevrolet 1 ton.... REALLY now :hillbilly:

Yall need to learn that you always tell them you are pulling a Toyota Corolla with a 1 ton. This happend to Clutchee a few years ago. He rented a tow dolly to pull the 60 to Tellico with the 80 and didn't have a problem from this end. He turned the dolly in up there because we stayed a week and then went back to rent it for the trip home. Guess what happened? "That truck is too heavy for that 80". He had to find another U-Haul dealer and basically lie to get his junk home.

Later,

I think that it's a spot that no one sees and a good can of "Gunk" would prolly do you just fine....

but hey, whatever makes you happy. I just spent too much damn money on a cup holder and I can hear Landry laughing through the computer... (Japanese folks were apparently very short in the 90's and didn't drink anything while driving)

If it is thick caked on dirt, you can put it in your yard with the sprinkler under it over night.

I will be back in BR Tuesday & would be willing to give you a hand after work.

It might still be in the shop then, but you can give me a call, i pmed my number to you. Where abouts in BR are you going to be?

As for the sprinkler thing, i dont have a yard, i live in an apt. I'm sure there is some mud caked on underneath, but i just want the engine clean for now. its not caked in there, the fan just flung muddy water all over the place. I planned on driving into laffy probably later on Thursday assuming I have my truck back. It all depends on when the alt comes in, and how fast they can put it on.

ha nah, still in baton rouge. But i'm not going to be able to make it in on thursday as i have a lab from 5-8. Anyone know how much it should cost to get my alternator installed at pepboys. I got an alternator, i just need to have it installed. Just for installation how much should i expect, i dont want to get screwed, like my wheel bearings

Try searching here for guys that have changed theirs. You will probably find what if anything has to be removed first and how long it takes.;)

I read this wrong. Call Toyota in New Iberia (888-442-5199). They should know.
