Well I picked up another one. This time I found an 88 4runner 6 cylinder 5 speed. Runs great. Good interior. Bad part is it looks like it drove through a looney toons cartoon but it was too good a deal to pass up. First order of business is getting rid of the paint. Then get a lift not sure yet what I’m gonna do. I’d love to sas it but I don’t have the funds to do that yet. Well see what happens from there........

That’s hilarious. Not sure id be able to roll around with taz either lol. Next time try sanding taz down with 800-1000 grit instead covering up. You’d be surprised what the results would yield. You going to build it?

Then I’d be almost going for a Barney look.

Well I decided I’d change the color up and here’s what it looks like after about $50-$60 in paint and some different wheels and tires. Still need to pull the nerf bars off.

That looks great - a lot better than the "stole it, hide the evidence" rattle can de-taz'ing. Did you rattle can or paint gun the green. From the pics, it looks like you took your time and did thorough prep job. The wheels look good too!

I rattle canned it. I did try to prep it right so it look alright. I’m pretty happy with it. I’d rather spend money on other parts than spend it on a paint job from a body shop.

HAHAHA De-Tazing

Those rear speakers are “interesting”. It looks like it’s part tournament boat! The rear seat passengers must love it!

The wheels are a big improvement.

Can't say I've ever seen a paintjob like that before. Looks much better with your rattle can, although I think you'd get alot more attention with the old Taz paint scheme. I'm glad you saved this one.

Yeah the speakers need to be moved. They are Bose speakers and actually sound really good.
