Hey guys.

chasing the rocking order for adjusting the valve clearances on a 2H.

also chasing the intake and exhaust clearances.

Engine is 1988 era - late model 2H.
 
I'd also suggest putting the truck in gear (4th or 5th), releasing the hand brake and pushing it to line up TDC and the pully marks. Far easier than messing around with a bar on the crank in my experience.
 
Worn valve rockers are very, very common on these engines and can seriously complicate the valve setting process. Be careful to check for wear on the face of the rocker where it meets the valve stem. If the wear is excessive, the rockers may need to be replaced.

If the valve stems or the rocker arms are wearing unevenly, the feeler gauge isn't going to show the actual valve clearance. Because of this, on high mileage engines it's fairly common to use a dial indicator to check valve clearance. Here's a really short demonstration:

I just used a cheapo dial indicator clamp from Harbor Freight.
