So I called the dealer close to my house and spoke to the person answering the phones at the service dept.
Explained to him that I had recently purchased a Land Cruiser and through some online research, had discovered there was a recall for this model/year.
Service: "What year is the truck?"
Me: "1989"
Service: "Umm..are you sure its an 89?"
Me: "Yup. Says so here on my title. Truck is outside as well. Toyota says its an '89. I have the recall notice ID # if you need to help you pull it up. I verified through Toyota of America that it has not been done on my truck....."
Places me on hold and comes back telling me he spoke to his svc. manager and he has to call Toyota to verify with them..........
Called a Toyota dealer close to my folks' house. I'm due in at 7:30am next Tuesday. Svc manager was cool as *hit. Told me they would most likely have the truck for 2 to 3 days at most while they get the parts which obviously they wouldnt have in stock. That dealer is Queensboro Toyota in Queens, New York.
Let's just hope they dont try to pull a fast one on me and hand me a bill for something "extra" when I pick it up. I am going to remind them 1000x to blow out the new tank to avoid any potential issues down the line.
