We’ve started looking for a 200 series and it’s disappointing they axed the majority tan interiors for the 2016+ models. I guess I’m in the minority. The tan interiors in the 2013-2015’s are some of the prettiest interiors I’ve seen in a car, period.

Agreed. I’m stuck with flat black everywhere but the seats even with the Terra interior. I definitely would have chosen that nice light tan inside.

I'll play....
The last time I owned a "black" leather interior was in a 2003 Chev 2500. It seems that every item that I laid down in that truck disappeared into a black hole.
Anyone concur? I seem to like the tan interiors better also. However maybe the black hides outdoor endeavors dirt a bit more?
Thoughts?

And I dont have the eyesight that I had 20 years ago.....

I think manufacturers are desperate to cut costs anywhere and one easy way is to make all the dashboards black. And Even though the new LC250 and GX550 have some selection for seat color, every single one that’s come to dealers near me have been black. That’s the safe color for dealers to pre-order. My tan interior 100 was the nicest interior of any vehicle I’ve owned, but those days are long gone.

@Sandroad: Have you owned a black interior vehicle? and if so, comments?

I am of that mindset as well....but these times, they may be a changing...

The other 200s I had were black. Last week I lucked into a white/tan 2 row poverty pack 2018 LX. I am with you and feel lucky to have found one .

You guys are warping my reality...for the better...

Can we put a dollar value on the tan vs black interior? Maybe so..maybe not...

I agree the tan looks better, but the black certainly ages better. If you are OCD centric like me, you will find that no matter how much care you put into a tan, after a couple years it will be in much worse condition than the black. Mainly the seats of course. Let alone if you have kids, dogs, a wife that loves blues jeans, etc.

That was among the motivations for getting out of my GX and into the LC. Lots of other reasons as well, but in the 1.5 yrs I had the light interior I found it impossible to keep clean. Especially with taking kids to baseball & softball tournaments. I get just as dirty coaching as they do playing. I guess it's still every bit as dirty, but at least now I can't see it I guess.

Anecdotally the 2016+ LX's I've looked at purchasing that had the Parchment interior seem to wear much more severely (or at least show wear more) than the other colors. It looks great when new but this ruled out Parchment for us with small kids who are rough on interiors.

I can attest after LCDC that the black interior definitely does NOT hide dust lol

Yea- I'm out in the country and the dust on my black started the second you finished cleaning. Hate to say it but my terrible red in my GX stayed pretty clean looking.

If I hadn't made the deal on my LC, there was one with the red interior that was calling my name.

The dirt is always there, but after ONE softball tournament I'm so glad I no longer have the light interior. Different strokes for different folks I guess. The light interior looks great while it looks great, but it doesn't take too much for the tables to turn.
