Is it typical on a 60 for the tailgates, upper and lower; not to close right tight? Mine always rattle around on rough roads. Almost as if the strikers are worn but that doesn't appear to be the case. Any fixes for this?

Just curious.
Thanks

Odds are it is not the hatch and tailgate but the various panels attached to them. Make sure all the screws are tight. Little access panels and such. Also the rear window washer bag access in the cargo panel. Mine rattles like crazy.

Make sure all the bolts are tight back there. Make sure the latch lines up properly. It shouldn't be hard to find the problem. But in the end remember this is a Landcruiser. It may rattle and shake, but you will love every second of it.

Hope you get it figured out :)

It is also possible to alter the position of the rubber "bump stops" that the tailgate rests on by slackening off the bolts that hold them in position. Repositioning these to press firmly against the tailgate ought to keep it in place but you will have to close it firmly.

There are adjustments for the latches as described in the body & chassis FSM. It could be that some of these have loosened up. In general, the tail gate should not rattle.

ou can purchase the new and latest models in just a few clicks without he expense and hassle of trips to the hobbystore. Besides, we feature an exotic variety of products manufactured in different parts of Asia, beginner rc airplanes, which you won't be able to get elsewhere!

Mine does that too and I have been needing to figure it out. I guess I could go to the above hobby shop? WTH is that about.

Mine was not closing tight and was rattling a lot. The latch mecanism in the upper tailgate was worn out. When closing it with a screwdriver I could see the play. Replaced mine and now it's tight and the rattle is gone.

Sometimes all it takes it takes is to give the lower gate a good slam. Have you tried that?

I adjusted the striker plates and it solved my problems.
