Tailgate locking issues (2 Viewers)

Hey guys. My tailgate on my 96 GXL doesn’t lock with my central locking, but also does not lock when i stick the key in the keyhole on the hatch. The key actually doesn’t move at all in the keyhole. Is it an actuator? I feel like the key should manually still work if it was an actuator. It is still lockable using the switch from the inside.

Mine does not work either with the key fob.
However, my key works great.
Try some lubricant in the lock or access the mechanism as in the video above and see what you find.
Not difficult to do, take pics if needed so you know how to put it back.
