Tailgate down, can I kill the warning chime? (1 Viewer)

I brought home a six foot tree from the nursery, with the tailgate open and the hatch tied down, but the chime kept going the entire trip. It did quit when I stopped at a red light....

Is there a way to stop the noise for low speed trips like this? I can't think of a simple way to clamp down the two hatch push button switches.

Is there a Setup setting that I can change?

Edit: I misunderstood the OP...BUT...
...If you are hearing the beep when you simply open the tail-gate...

That chime/beep/alert...comes from accidentally pressing the LOCK button...when actually trying to press for the release/open button. Once it's open...and you accidentally hit to lock button (annoyingly close to the release button), the truck assumes you are trying to LOCK an open tailgate...and it triggers the alert beeping. Once you learn to avoid the lock button when opening the gate? -No more annoying beep!

No he's talking about the "your tailgate is open stupid" chime that drives you crazy if you have to leave either half open while driving home, like with a sheet of plywood in the truck. Mine beeps for a minute, then waits, then repeats. I just turned the tunes up and ignored it.

I must be tired.

Somehow I managed to only see the part about the annoying beeping... COMPLETELY missed the whole nursery drive home thing.

Push the latch in the upper lid to the closed position. Just remember to trigger it open before you try to close it.
