As the tittle says my center tail lights aren't working.
The sides light up fine..
Anybody have any idea of what it could be?
I checked the owners manual but didn't see that it was on a separate fuse.

What's the probability of that effecting both sides

Check the bulbs:flipoff2:

Thanks dude!
Know where I can find the fluid level?

Fluid level of ?????

Tail Light bulbs...

Both of the tailgate lights were out on my 03 when we bought it and it was just the bulbs . For some reason I've had to change the pass brake light 3 times in 6 years but the drivers side I haven't touched

Sorry Rance thought you were jerking me around..
The only thing that works on the gate are the brake lights (I think)..
Are the turn signals and back up lights supposed to work too?
I'll check the bulbs but I find it hard to believe that all the bulbs are out..
I did pull the fuse for the daytime running lights I wonder if that would have an effect.

So I replaced the tail lights... Still no go.
Is there a separate fuse for the center tail lights?
The brakes lights still work.

Figured it out.
I looked between the tail gate and body. (under the plastic panel that comes down with the tail gate)
Sure enough there was a broken wire right where the bundle goes througha bbracket.
It looks like a point where the wires work back and forth a lot...
Probably a common break point.

I've been there and fixed that and have a t-shirt. ;)

Mine had a bunch of fraying in the wire harness that leads from the truck back to the lower tailgate, issue was inside the harness in the area where it crossed to the tailgage...3 bare power wires and the white-black stripe ground.

The shorts caused warning lights to fire up like a slot machine with a jackpot. Fixed with cutting out the frayed wires and fixing with aircraft crimp barrels and some shrink tube...no further incidents.

Good detective work on your part.

Steve
