How hard is a cornfed lift to put on. i understand with some kits you need access to a coil compresser. Is this the case with cornfed? also who has the best prices? thanks

If you need to chnage the springs, you need a spring compressor, unless you get a coil over option which comes with springs fitted like the Donahue racing units.

I have the 3" Cornfed lift in my 01 Taco, I ordered it from the manufacturer (I'm not sure you can get the kit anywhere else). The installation is pretty simple, except for compressing the springs and it's very inexpensive when compared with some of the other options. You will need a spring compressor, the front springs need to be compressed in order to fit the spacer in there; I had a shop install the spacer on the coil over then installed the rest of the lift myself. I also installed Daystar greasable shackles on my Taco, they definently improve the ride a bit; with the add-a-leafs and the shackles the rear of the truck is only about an inch and a half higher than the front. I've had the Cornfed kit in my truck for about six months now and am pretty happy with it, the ride is stiffer than stock; it now rides more like a 3/4 or 1 ton truck. As for tires with the 3" lift, I run 285/16 MT's on 16x8 Wheelers Off-Road black steelies, with 3.75 backspacing and they rub undeer slight compression at the back, bottom of the fender opening (I'm installing a 4Crawler 2" body lift soon to fix the rubbing problem). So if your going with the 3" lift go with 32's, if you want 33's dropp the $$$ on a 6" lift or do some fender trimming. If you have any more questions on the Cornfed lift let me now; also check out the forum over at www.customtacos.com and do a search under Cornfed suspension lifts, you'll get a ton of info.

I run a 3" lift on my prado [same front end as a taco] with 285's on wide offset *' rims, and I removed the plastic inner fenders, took to the back of the front fenders with a 14lb hammer while the wheels were off, then replaced, and re fixed the plastic inner fender covers, cant see any work carried out, and made and extra 1" of space in there.
