tacoma 2009 transmission problems

Anyone have a fix for this?
There is a problem with the new 2009 Tacoma automatic tranny where it jumps down into 1st gear during low speed turns - racing the engine and pissing off the owners. Edmunds has a long tread on this and no one seems to have a fix...including Toyota who apparently is happy that the vehicle "works as designed" I believe that's the words they used...Like everyone else, I'm ready to trade it if I can't find a fix, it is really is beginning to ...you know.

I haven't heard of that one before. Is it reportedly specific to the 2009 models?

Happens all the time on my '09. It really irritated me at first, but I've grown used to it.

i havent herd if that complaint yet. when i go into the dealer tommorw i'll log onto toyota information system (TIS) and dig a little for any service bulletins on this complaint..

just got done searching toyota's sight and there are not TSB's or recalls for any such complaint.. ill keep looking and keep my eyes open for any that come into the dealer with a consern like that..

they all do it, either sell it or learn to live with it

some TCM issue I would guess probably all one unit with the ECU... can you program the TCM? like get one of those fancy bullydog things?

The new toyota's remind me too much of GM stuff.... The thing that always stuck out to me about toyota's were inline gass sippin engines in fair sized trucks!
