I'm looking for new/used 4x4 Tacoma, and thinking about 4 cylinder with 4.10 diffs. I'm sure I would like extra hp from v6, but kind of turned off due to lower mileage and timing belt.

Is the gas mileage gained from the 4 cyl as wash when you put a pair of 4.10 diffs in?

Is this a good combination for a dd and pulling light loads (flat bottom boat or utility trailer with a couple of 4 wheelers).

How would the performance of this combination say compare to the v6 with 3.58 diffs?

Thanks.

By the time you consider cost, gear installs, resale, power, etc., I think you'd be better off with a V6, if you plan to do any towing of any kind.
