What kind of MPG does a 2wd T-100 get? Also what can I expect for a safe towing capacity.

I'm assuming you are considering the newest models which come equipped with the 3.4v6. Mileage should be around 14-16 mpg and towing capacity will be less than 5,000 lbs. A 5spd manual equipped truck will say it is rated for 3500 lbs? but I know tons of people who have towed up to 5,000 lbs. on a regular basis with the manual transmission trucks. In other words, the manual can handle the additional weight if you go that way.

5,000 lbs. will feel very heavy behind a T100:rolleyes:

I haven't towed with mine but I get 18-22 mpg with the 3.4 4wd. The truck does seem a little light for 5000 lbs but I would do it in a heartbeat with trailer brakes
Good luck,
Dan

95+

I've flat towed my '74 land cruiser behind a 5 spd tacoma with the same 3.4L motor.
No problems doing 70-75.

97 t100 with the 3.4 5 spd. Pulled a Isuzu Trooper, approx 6-7000? Trucks are capable of much more than capacity, not saying it wont struggle, but not bad for a v6

I was seeing 18 city and 24 miles hwy with mine. I had the manual trans. I think at 5 thousand pound you are working the brakes pretty hard on that truck. I moved 3.5k in wait around and it did not have a problem.

Great truck wish I still had it.

There were some improvements made to the 3.4 v6, I think midway through 96?
Yes. They upgraded the fuel system I think to compensate for the TRD super charger.

With a supercharger in town on a 97 4x4 T100 I was getting 16. 18 on a good day with a strong tailwind.
