T-Max Winch on ARB

T-Max winches out of Australia look pretty good. Any idea if they will mount in the ARB on the FJ??

Yes- with some effort.

We did one last weekend (a T-Max EW9500 in the ARB bumper for the FJ cruiser). It was kind of a pain.

The housing of the winch opposite the motor needs to be rotated about 90* to allow the freespool/power lever to operate through the window in the top of the bumper. You need to somewhat disassemble the winch in order to do that. I can post more specific directions if you wish.

the TMax on my 80-series ARB installed fine, just needed a washer-two to space it back in the bumper.

the 9500 has the lever on top, like my 10k....some of their other models have it on the end of the motor, at the edge....they tend to pop out...

If you're interested in the T-Max, take a look at Summit Racing. They sell the T-Max EW9000 rebadged as a Summit Racing winch for just over $400.

I believe that the EW9000 is oriented the same as the Warn M8000 (e.g. easy to install in most FJ aftermarket bumpers).
