Synthetic Winch lines, Extentions and recovery ropes

I am offering to make custom winch lines and winch extensions using Amsteel Blue. I have been splicing Amsteel Blue for a little over 1 year and can lay claim to working up the rope for the worlds largest yo-yo. Im posting this information as evidence I sorta know what Im doing. I realize Im a new player in a game with a host of well know players already. I started and ran www.whoopieslings.com until I couldn't keep up with the demand between it and my real job. But I enjoy working with the rope and this ties right in with my want to enjoy offroad endeavors.

All my splices are done using Samsons guidelines for class 2, 12 strand rope. I can make them with or without heavy duty stainless thimbles, but the standard is with. Standard pricing is without a hook. I can re-use your current hook but you will need to remove it and send it to me. 5' of abrasion guard on each winch line.

I include a 10% safety margin into my splices, So that means a 5/16 line will have a safe working limit of 12,330 pounds. 3/8 will have a safe working limit of 17,640. I will guarantee my products for 5 years from the time you take delivery against defects in my work. The line itself will retain its full average strength rating as stated on Samsons website for Amsteel Blue. If the line breaks at the splice during the 5 year period, and I can determine its not from misuse, I will replace the entire line. If anything on the line breaks anywhere along the line after the 5 year period, send it back to me and I'll make the longest section your winch line and the shorter section an extension. Youll need to cover the costs of shipping and the thimbles for the extension.

Prices are shipped to your door via USPS Priority ... Other diameters and lengths available upoun request.

Kris-

This may be a game changer.... prices look good.

Thanks Van.

Some have asked why I use the yo-yo footage when Im trying to sell winch lines. The team up in Escanaba that pulled off the yo-yo estimated that when the yo-yo hit BDC of its travel, it exerted 40,000+ pounds of shockload on the line. I feel thats a pretty good testimonial to my work AND the strength on Amsteel Blue.

I understand the example and appreciate the strenght of the syn line... any plans for recovery line?

Master Pull has the "yanker" they market as a tow rope anything similiar to that?

I got some rudementary testing done today on my 7/16 soft shackle. I had some time planned to have them pulled to a certified 20,000 pounds but that fell through. So I had to improvise.

First test was using a Ford F250 crew cab with a 7.3 powerstroke.....

So while I had the grader out today, and since it passed my first test.... I know there was at least 10,000 pounds being placed on the soft shackle. I broke the first strap I used.

And even after being loaded, it opens up for removal...

I intend to offer these in place of steel shackles. They do have a drawback compared to a steel shackle in that you need to pay attention to tight radius bends and sharp edges. Where they excel over a steel shackle is you arent limited by the throat opening like on a steel shackle and they conform to whatever you put them around.

The shackle I used Ive been consistently using for testing for about 1 month. So Its seen a bit of abuse. Initially they will be for static use only. Ill get some shock loading tests done as time permits.

I just got the results and certification back on my Rope Shackle. It will have a WLL of 8,000. This WLL is on par with the majority of grade 80, 3/8 or 10mm sling hooks currently being used by most other companies. Load tested to 20,000 and 25,000 with no signs of slipping or breaking. Failure occured at 34,100 pounds at the base of the knot. They will measure approx 8" end to end. These will work in most situations a D shackle will with 2 exceptions. I did not have these tested in a dynamic situation, and they need a smooth radius at the attachment point. Sharp edges and 90 degree bends will reduce the WLL substantially. These are designed to be opened and closed like a steel shackle, but at a fraction of the weight and no limitation on what you can fit through the throat. I can also make them longer than the standard 8"

I just ordered a synthetic winch line from this seller. Great communication throughout the process. Allows for customizing and great pricing. I can't wait to get my line and get it installed.

Thanks again
