switches to fit dash blanks?

I've been searching for an hour and haven't found an answer.

Are there switches available that will fit the blanks in our dashes? I'm talking about the blanks in the panel to the left of the steering wheel, where the rear vent window and locker switches are.

I want to install some driving lights and other stuff and that panel is the perfect place to put the switches.
 
I think there are a number of factory switches from various Toyota's of the same vintage that will fit.

Dan at American Toyota should be your first call. You may have to contact someone overseas to purchase them like Mot or Japan 4X4. All are forum members who frequent the 80's forum.

I gave up and decided just to use the large clunky ARB switches that came with my compressor and locker :frown:. But maybe calling their customer service and seeing how to order...
 
I don't have any photos available to me at the moment, but like siglos switches, if you look around this board there are photos of "original" 100/105 cruiser switches that can be had from the US/UK/EURO/OZ/JAP market that may not be available in each persons specific country.
Some of these may work for some by sticking a new label on their front, the Sub-fuel switch is a push button switch which latches down, has one N/O contact plus illumination lamp. IIRC it also has provision for another latching or signal lamp, but the hole is not cut out and the pins are not extended, but they are there!. This means you could dremel out the hole and fit an extra lamp, this would give you a feedback lamp from , maybe your compressor when it is running, or when it reaches cut-out pressure etc. There are lots of other switches for lamps, heaters etc, I have many pulled apart at the moment, but this switch project has been sidelined at the moment. Original type switches which fit in the hole are what I want. Don't take any of this for gospel, I could have mixed up my switches and bits!
 
And I'm using a rocker switch.....maybe from a vent/recirculation air switch for an interior winch control.

The backlighting can be changed by replacing the bulb with the green one. So you will have to buy some bulbs to sell with them as well!
EDIT: Maybe I am incorrect here, is the light switch the one with the inbuilt circuit board and timer?, it may have a LED tolight it up instead of a bulb, I am not sure, but in that case the led could be changed I expect.

The picture of Slees shows a vent type rocker switch (maybe rear vent, I don't know) it is perfect for a winch switch, and because it is different from the 80 series switch that he uses for winch control, in the fact that you can't accidentally use forwards and backwards at the same time, you can remove some relays from the interior winch control circuit. (EDIT, it would work perfectly with Slees new winch control module though without any mucking around)
The switch could also be mounted vertical or horizontal to achieve a winch control.
All of the different switches have slightly different protusions on them so that they go into the correct holes on the dash, but you can file of the protrusion without affecting the switch and make them fit into any dash hole and fit nice and tight just as the correct switch would fit.

The bulb is changeable I'm sure, what is that lamp switch out of Christo, a Kluger maybe? (Edit Highlander in the USA) Bulb with green cap is probably 90010-01062

The bulb is not usually colored. They tend to have a colored gel in the switch itself, or a colored condom on the bulb. If it is in the switch, it is difficult to change, because they are lazer cut and glued in. Painting a bulb is a breeze.

I have a few switches pulled apart as stated before, some have the bulb with the green cap, some do not, toyota sell the cap seperately for some, others have either the plain bulb, or the bulb with the green cap (you call it a condom, toyota call it a cap), depending on year etc. I have even posted green bulb part numbers. I am trying to make Christo aware, as well as others, so everyone does not have to muck around.
