That thing is sweet! I could use that for my landscaping business! Does anyone know the seller?

I work in Gastonia and can take a look if someone is interested. Only thing is my knowledge is limited, but I can take some pics and ask questions. Probably won't be able to check it out until Friday though. Just send me a pm.

That thing looks fimiliar. If it the one i am thinking of, it was on a Minitruck frame.

By the loooong wheelbase, and 350/nv drivetrain, I'm guessing it's a 3/4 or 1 ton GM chassis. Looks goofy to me the way the front axle lines up w/ the fenders, but to each his own.

 R

The body does seem to need to move back about 6 inches but other than that it is cool.

That makes sense now that I look again, you are prob right. I saw one a couple times about 12-13 years ago parked in a friend of mines neighborhood in Indian Trail a bunch, dont remember it exactly, but it was a crazy monster-garage type creation and I could have sworn it was on a minitruck frame, prob a different truck. I think its pretty fugly too. :hillbilly:

pass, that is one butchered ugly POS ...

sheesh wayne, just cause she doesnt have one of them toy diesels you dont have to hate on it ;)

although it is pretty fugly...................... yet somehow cool

Wonder what it would look like with a flatbed on the 55 frame instead :hhmm:

the idea is acceptable, the extension is practical, the execution is FAWKIN UGLY.

Agreed x billion.... just flingin some east coast poo :D
Im simply jealous I cant pull the trigger on any of your sweet setups; love following your current build too

So it looks to be a regular 40 tub and top with a fiberglass front end, and tool boxes welded in the wheel wells?
I had contemplated RK/Tim's tub (or any 40) on the 55 this past summer with a small ute tray out back.
Thats prolly the easiest way to fix the rust on the pig :D

Jason... that would look really cool on the 55 frame. I love the 40 and 80 series utes i have seen.

Anyone want a 3/4 ton chevy chasis and drivetrain? will include hydraulic dump bed with sale :D

$2500 ???

thanks for the compliment, i appreciate it.
even if he moved the cab and front clip back to centered over the front tires would have made a HUGE improvement in looks. if the quality of work on the hidden parts is anything like the quality of what we CAN see ... well ... ??dangerous?? comes to mind.

No one thought i would know about this in gastonia!?!?!

I met this guy when i was in high school. he used his G.I. bill to build this on a 1/2 ton chassis. Its all fiberglass and the hood is also fiberglass and folds forward. The wheel wells in the rear are tool boxes. I know that he has put alot of miles on it driving across the country on his little excursions. The only thing i remember is it smells like BO and looks extremely goofy

Nobody was sure you were still alive :)

What's been going on dude? Need some updates on your build - saw some pics on FB, and it's looking good.

Hi, just came across an old query regarding custom fabrication of Toyota FJ-40 as a hydraulic dump truck. I did such a conversion two years ago. If someone is interested I can guide such enthusiasts.
