Did any 60 Series, North American market or otherwise, ever come with suspension seats similar to the ones in some 70 Series?
Thanks

I don't believe 60s came with suspension seats in any market. I know some Monteros (or Troopers?) had a similar suspension seat frame to the 70's in the states.

Thank you .... Any ideas on which markets had them as an option?

id say they were most common in the Japanese market but im not honestly sure where all they were available. They do come up for sale once in a blue moon and Id love to get my grubby hands on a set

Perhaps the JDM 61 Series?

I have them installed on my 60 (and sorry not for sale). They came with the super fancy HJ61 velour interiors & seating. They were never available (new) to the USA market. The stock USA seats won't work with them though they will bolt up. They're too high. I tried. Middle East got these for sure. I purchased mine from SOR used 25 years ago that he had imported off a wreck. The only set he ever had. Frighteningly expensive ($OR) but absolutely worth it when off road. Night & day difference. On pavement they don't do anything.

Sitting position is higher even with the correct seats. Maybe too high for guy 6'1" or taller.

Good Information, thanks.

I've seen them on JDM HJ-60's.

i know i am am barely over 6'....and i feel like i am already a few inches too high in in my FJ62. Do they make brackets to lower the seats closer to floor pan? looks like 2" would make a tremendous difference.

Japanese and Middle East spec 60 series definitely got these seats. In fact, I just bought a pair myself a month ago!

They look exactly like the ones @Output Shaft posted, and appear to have come from an HJ60 or 61 24V. They are definitely big $$$ for 30 year old seats. They do sit a little high, but I'm a big 6'2" guy and once I sit down, the suspension base compresses a little and then it's not too bad. They don't make brackets to lower the seats any further, as there quite literally is no room to do so. Any room the seat could move down is taken up by the suspension base. The hardest part for me I think is that it is a little more difficult getting into the truck with the higher seats, but once I'm in, I'm good.

A word of warning though: US model FJ60's and FJ62's have different seat bolting patterns in the floor, and they are not quite 100% bolt-in on an FJ62. I had to cut and drill some metal brackets to get the outer rear mounts on each seat to work, so that was a bit of a pain. The front 2 and rear inner mounts line up, but those are the only ones.

If anyone has any questions about these seats in an FJ62, let me know. I only just got them and it's all still fresh in my mind...

What about an aftermarket suspension base; anybody tried that route? I know it'd require fabbing to get it mounted but they're readily available.
