Hi Guys

Im looking at doing the suspension lift and replacing the tires on the VDJ79. Note this is the model with the Toyota factory tray (wellback)

What I'm looking for:
Fit 34-35" tires (315/75R16 ideally I know the diameter changes with brands)
Minimum lift possible to keep centre of gravity low and prevent scrubbing
Get the more flex out of the suspension.

I live in Sri Lanka hence difficult to keep trying different setups as imports have been restricted and freight is crazy expensive.

I know this tire size is a common fit in Australia hence appreciate any advise on a good setup.

With a true 35" tire or even a 34" tire you will have issues scrubbing the inner guard when flexing and turning with a 2" lift. Since anything over 2" requires radius arms, and springs are cheap I'd suggest a 4" lift for you. It in my experience a 4" lift doesn't make it feel a heap more tippy off road, anything more than that does. If you want the middle ground go 3".

Check out some of the 70 Facebook groups , there is most likely a lot more knowledge there than here. Post up what ever you decide on doing and end result for those of us that can’t have a vdj79
Thanks will post on FB

I just bought a RHD 2007 single cab V8 turbo diesel with 315/75R16 tyres and (although I have no way of confirming it without another vehicle to measure against) I don't think mine has much lift - if it has any. It's certainly closer to the ground that my 2 inch lifted 105 series... but does have heavy duty aftermarket springs for carrying big loads (which are awful
tbh)

You can check out my thread for a 4" lift, radius arms, and 35" tires. Though IF you can find a 3" lift, you could try to go with that. I get a bit of rub turning full one direction on the frame, but with a narrower tire, you may avoid that. I will be trying some wheel spacers in the spring and see if that looks after the wheel rub. I used a mishmash of OME, dobinsons, and terrain tamer parts.
