Being so far from water, and seeing Dan's baja report, has me wishing I was chilling beach side right about now. How about posting a surf pic of yourself, your favorite surfer, or anything ocean activity related....

I guess I will start...
making the most of the inside section of Punta Flores.

Surf...what the F!#$ is surf? I grew up in the middle of the corn and soybean fields of Illinois. :flipoff2: :hillbilly:

I swear this was only the weak shore break...where my lady took one of few pics...you should have seen the point breaks, and the urchin infested reefs.... :) Somewhere south of Lima, Peru

:bang: :bang: :bang: I actually have zero pictures of me surfing.

Imagine me surfing poorly on a beautiful head high right at Punta Abreojos that swung from the cliffs all the way around to the beach break!!!!

Yeah, anyone who has been there will know how hard it is to convince a :princess: to set up camp on the rocks and take pictures and the beach break was closing out.

This is the beach break at Abreojos with someone who surfs better than me. :D

Dan takes the lead......

That pic of me in the barrel was taken by my sister who knows nothing about surfing, now that was a shocker when I got the film back.

That is a nice ride and a perfectly framed shot, your sis did good.

James I've always wanted to surf Peru, one of my dream trips. I just watched "Peel: The Peru Project" last night and now really want to get down there.

Speaking of surf the reports are calling for 4-6 feet with occasional 1' overhead from a storm in Alaska tomorrow. Guess where I will be tomorrow.:D

OC can have trestles, SD gets the north swells in the winter.

Peru is an incredible country with plenty of history and adventure activities for the active. I wish I had time to explore more it's coastline when I was there last ..especially the north. I haven't seen the video you mention. I will keep an eye for it.

:flipoff2: on the overhead surf and not getting any waves myself...

Don't think SD has a wave as good as Trestles...but I love the reefs around La Jolla...

I'd like to make it to Nica next. God willing I stay healthy and will be there...

Cool thread . . .

This is super lame, but all I have is this small animated gif image I made of myself a number of years ago. It was for a website my wife made for Luke right after he was born (the background color on the site was green). I must have the original clip somewhere. The video was taken at the rivermouth in Del Mar (near the race track).

I think all of my pictures are on film, no digital!

However, almost every inch of SD coastline has surf. And within that coastline is a number of phenomenal beach breaks and reefs, from Sunset Cliffs all the way to DMJ's on Camp Pendleton.

Man I miss surfing . . . :frown: :crybaby:
