I think you are right.

And within that coastline is a number of phenomenal beach breaks and reefs, from Sunset Cliffs all the way to DMJ's on Camp Pendleton.

Man I loved surfing DMJ's, used to go there 2-3 days a week dawn patrol and then drive back to Irvine to work. You have about 3 paddles if you are lucky and you better be popping up. First deep barrel I ever got was there. Fun wave and my personal favorite beach break.

You world travelers have some killer shots and some epic looking trips. Great thread latinoguy!

Jesus, those Indo shots are pornographic.

Wish I had something to contribute. Apparently, no one thinks my surfing is good enough to get a photographic record. Too bad...I surf just like Phil Edwards.

Okay, Phil Edwards with Cerebral Palsy...

...and a broken leg.

The waves are insane, how about my buddies boat in the foreground....not too shabby either. Five star meals on board the entire time.

I am speechless. Good friend to have.

I'm going again this year. It was pretty cool last year but wasn't all that consumer interactive....I thought they could have done a little better job since it was open to the public and not just another trade show. I checked everything out in about 10 mins and was out of there.....and I shape boards myself so I was pretty interested.

SD surfers we should all get together sometime for a session. Sat would be convient but I think it is going to be really small. Maybe I will start a thread on the SD clubhouse.

south jetty silverstrand 1980ish still doin' it, boards 3' longer me 30#'s more insulation:grinpimp:

Great thread here!!!

Any of you folks who make it to the surf show, swing by the Fineline booth, you can see my very good friend BJ. He married my wife and I. Kirk Putnam will also be there. Really cool guys who love their jobs.

I only have one shot of me surfing - I'm the one in front :D :D :D

:D:D:D:D:D

When I was childless and surfing 4-5 days a week, I would see him out pretty much all the time. His name is George and he's a doctor of some sort. None of the regular guys seem to mind if it's someone they see every day (at least I don't mind it too much)...

:bounce:NOW LETS SEE SOME MORE PICS!!!!!!:bounce:

I've got a ton more. First shot is during the Witch Fire at Carlsbad Campgrounds taken by my friend Drew Coalson. Second one is my buddies back after he bounced off the reef in Indo. Third is just a crazy shot of Diablos I saw online somewhere.

First one is the business...#3, never in my life would I paddle out for that.

Is anyone going to the Sacred Craft surfboard expo this weekend in Del Mar?

2008 Consumer Surfboard Expo | Show Info

I will be there Sat. morning or early afternoon after a surf session.
I

Dan be sure to stop by the Uhura booth. My friend John and his mom Mercedes are sharing a booth. His boards are great but her mosaic surfboard art is insane. I'll have to did up some pics from the archives...

One of my favorites as well. I always thought it was fun when the waves 'bounced' off of the jetty.

Drew Coalson! Hey, I know that dude. I went to school with him and his cousin Scott. I haven't seen that guy in years!

Scott has a couple of Cruisers and I believe he is on MUD . . .

Yeah, Drew is the man but haven't seen him in a while. Great photog.

Future ripper

You can barely make him out in the back seat checking out Oily Piers.

okay, so it's kinda tuff checking out the waves thru closed lids, but c'mon...he's only a year old.
