Thanks Ross! It almost covered the bill for the weekend.....ok, maybe not hehe

So Ross, Tell us what you prepared to take the whole enchilada this year at Sand Chef.

Congratulations! We were thinking of you guys Fri. evening.

Ross, so what was on your menu??

From Alvaro:

This year's Sand Chef was probably the best Sand Chef to date. Teams have raised the bar many times over since we first started this contest in four years ago.

Here's a table with the totals:

As you can see it was a very tough choice for the judges. Kathy's All Girl Team and Ross's BFC were only a point a part. Here's a graph that illustrates it better:

We're already thinking of ways to make it more fun next year. Plus there are many ideas for the secret ingredient floating around in my head.

Regards

Alvaro

Thanks! Couldn't have done it without Tina and her friend Cheryl.

1st was a quail egg shooter in hot Saki, Sriracha and Ponzu (citrus soy sauce).

2nd was a Smoked Salmon roulade with Gruyere cheese and
asparagus made in a Dutch Oven. Thought of Chris Alger and Twiddy on that
one.

3rd was a french toast made from croissants drizzled with dark
chocolate, whipped cream, blueberry and raspberry.

We won by 1 point. Tough one this year.

Honestly, the previous 2 year working with Don helped shape the menu this year. Emphasis was on dishes that could be made in 30 mins or so, just in case we messed up. The shooter was the first one, and got the judges in the right mind set. :)

Very impressive menu Ross, well done.
Way out of my league, I can't even pronounce some of those but they do sound delicious:D
