Los Alamos has a lot of deep snow right now... I hate to go on a run with snow coming in though. Call me a wuss, but I've known people who did that and couldn't get their rig out until spring. If the road from Placitas to the back side is open at the bottom that might be a good option. I'm not going to make it tomorrow though, so I hate to make suggestions.

Bonfire and I are heading to the Puerco at 830 if any one wants to join. Ill have the 2M on, no CB,if you want us to wait.

165 is open all the way through. Went up there today, there was a lot of traffic.

We drove up to Los Alamos via Hwy 4 yesterday and the road was clear but lots of snow around. Valle Calderas was quite beautiful with acres and acres of fresh snow all around.

Have a good time y'all.

Field trip to Salida?

Can we do some whitewater paddling while we're there? That is a mighty fine little river they gots....

Super slop

Well once we got over the hill from southern, it started raining and snowing. I was under the impression that the Puerco consisted entirely of sand. I was wrong. We found lots of sloppy slimy mud. The kind that adds 3-4 inches to the bottom of your shoes as you walk in it. Well I got a little sideways on a small hill and had to get pulled back onto the trail by Jericho. All in all a great trip. Despite having to exit out onto I40 by the casino, we got back in time for a carwash before superbowl. Here are my pics

The Puerco is famous for its mud.
I use to spend $20 in quarters at the car wash....

So far about 10 dollars invested at the car wash. The hand wash begins tomorrow !

And that was only if you got to it before it dried. Remember the underside of O'Niell's 60 when we attempted the 5-spd install?
