Title says it. Yesterday, the sunroof started acting up. As soon as it closes, it automatically reopens. I cleaned the tracks and that didn't help. I can't even push and hold it closed.

I searched and got a bunch of sunroof threads, but didn't see anyone with this problem. Any ideas, I need to be able to close this thing on my trip.

I have trouble with mine too. On mine the passenger rear corner hangs on the roof in either direction it can be opened, so I think it's just slightly misaligned. To close it I hit the button and then press forward and either up or down depending on which way it's open. It sometimes takes a few tries to get it. After you get it closed you might want to pull the fuse so you don't accidentally open it. I haven't bothered to take this step yet and have accidentally opened it at some inopportune times (mid-December at 4:00am, ten degrees and snowing on the way to the airport was particularly bad).

Open it all the way, press close, right when it shuts turn the truck off. Seal it with tape for the mean time until you have some time to look into it. I also think there is a manual crank right above the map lights/sunroof controls. I had to do this with my mothers Benz, the auto window would not stay up. I finally got tired of the window rolling half way back down and did it this way. Also, try unhooking the battery, the motor may have a glitch and maybe just needs to be reset...more or less.

Is there a fuse that you can pull at the precise moment that it is closed? Or pull the fuse and use the manual crank to close it? I am very new to 100s and don't know what else is on that fuse. Just a thought.

I fixed mine today. Based on what I saw today, here's what I think happened.
- Unbeknownst to me, small branches fell into the tracks (both of them) when the roof was open.
- The roof was closed.
- The sliders shattered and jammed the sticks even deeper into the tracks so that they weren't visible with the stupid sunroof shield that was installed.
- When the glass jammed, it became misaligned and the right rear edge caught on the roof as it was being moved up or down for sliding or tilting.
- After I helped it close during the snowstorm it was so tight in the roof because of the misalignment that it could no longer move, even with my help.

Here's what I did to fix it:
1. Removed the shield (anyone want one?)
2. Removed the plastic shields from the sides of the sunroof inside the truck.
3. Loosened all four of the nuts that hold the glass to the sliders. These are gold, and face down. They're pretty obvious.
4. Moved the glass around until it was well aligned with the roof - this is not a subtle sort of thing, I just grabbed it from top and bottom and shoved in each direction a few times. The rubber gaskets along the sides did a pretty good job evening everything out.
5. Tightened the bolts.
6. Slid it back completely.
7. Cleaned all the debris out of the tracks. There was some hidden stuff in there that I was able to blow out. I used my breath, canned air would have been better.
8. Ran it a couple times in each direction to make sure everything was operating smoothly again.
9. Went out on the highway with the roof and windows open. This blew out a ton of debris that had managed to find its way in there.
10. Cleaned the tracks again.
11. All finished, and will definitely not be parking under trees with it open anymore.
