Has anyone installed a sunroof wind deflector on their 200? I notice a lot of wind noise when I ride with it open. Not sure if a visor would help ?? I also have my Yakima rack on top with faring that could also be adding to the noise. Thanks

I tried one on my 100 series years ago, but ended up removing it. All it did was create a slightly different noise, and partially block my view out the top.

Our 200 sunroof stops just short of full-open, presumably to reduce noise. It lets you press open again to go full open, but it's significantly noisier to my ears...

I highly suggest you avoid opening the roof all the way. Unless the system in significantly different, when the roof opens all the way, it hits the end of the track but the motor is still running, which eventually shears the teeth off the toothed belt that moves the glass panel. Then the roof is stuck open. This exact thing happened to the roof in our Highlander a few years ago, it was a real PITA to get the thing closed. It's been unplugged ever since. It's a huge job to fix, and the part is not cheap (~$400).

The guy that does my annual stickers used to be a tech at a big dealer, he said he's had to fix quite a few 4Runners. Very big bill, the headliner has to come down.

Have you tried rolling the rear door glass down about a half-inch to an inch? I find this helps with the buffering effect at least. Also check to make sure the built in deflector is raising up automatically when you open the sunroof. Perhaps it is broken?

My 80 has always had the add on wind deflector and the best use I found was for when it rained the air flow carried the rain up and over the open moon roof. The kid loved it and if you don't have kids show the dog there is another window. Try it if you have one.

Road, tire, traffic and just plain old wind noise was the reason the moon roof didn't get used much.

I will let my 4 legged child try it out. Thanks. Haha

Ride in an fj cruiser with the two windows down (w/o the back window propped) and you'll think you're in heaven with the 200 fully opened up.

I removed my thule rack because it was adding to the wind noise from the roof. With the sunroof open, it became a nuisance.

As other have mentioned, I also run my front and rear windows open about 1/2". it seems to me that that helps to reduce wind noise also.
