My sunroof is stuck open. I took apart the motor assembly and while not great, it seems to be working. One side of the glass seems like it wants to move but the other side seems to be inhibited by something.
When I press the close button the glass will move slightly. The wind screen looks to be working g correctly. I was thinking it could be the track on that side or maybe debris in there. I have tried with my hand to assist but it’s not working. I just need it closed. Please help. How can I get it back on track? I can’t see if there’s any obstruction because the glass is all the way back except for an inch.

If I depress the switch to the slide open function I get a clicking noise from the motor. The glass moves a little forward then back. If I depress the switch to the tilt up function, there is a small sound then nothing else if repeatedly pressed.

Have you tried spraying compressed air? If you dont have compressed air, you can buy computer duster at some place like Staples.

I believe some of the elements of the sunroof - track and gears - are plastic. My guess here is that the plastic has given up.

I'd love to be wrong but the "clicking" you refer to might point to a lack of engagement due to some plastics that have grenaded on you....my $.02. If true, this is no small job to try to repair or replace the track and gears - I think you have to take the interior headliner out first to get this effort started. Again, hoping I'm wrong...

Good luck buddy!
