Between the dash rattle and the "new" sunroof rattle, I almost went nuts on some washboard roads yesterday. The sunroof rattle occurs when the sunroof is closed. It seems that something is rattling inside the front of it (closest to front of vehicle) I can reach my hand up in there and feel a plastic piece vibrating. This will also stop the noise. Any ideas why this is rattling...? I think it is the part that comes up to deflect wind when the roof is open.

I have to drive with my knees holding the dash and the sunroof to keep it quiet......not really, but I am considering it....;)

Is this one of those questions that is so easy to sort out when you look at it that there isn't a thread? Mine is driving me crazy. Searched before I looked into it. Not seeing much....

if the thread does not contain info about lighting or something shiny, it does not get much action

i live with the rattles now, have not really noticed much lately.

I had what I thought was a sunroof / windshield rattle and it was actually one of the screws holding the mirror base in place that was loose. It's very hard to find the specific source of a noise, however the fact that it only happens with the sunroof completely closed is a good indication.

Mine rattles when closed, but not when tilted or opened back.

i heard the rattle at the rear portion of the glass, so i sprayed the crap out of the area with silicone spray which, for the time being, has quieted the blessed sound.

i don't know if that's cool for the rubber seals or internals, but i couldn't stand the sound and didn't want to drive with the shade shut. we'll see if this "fix" lasts.

I found some black plastic rails that clip along the perimeter of the glass that have been rattling. Have not been driving it daily (wife does) enough to fix it but that's what I've discovered.

I had some of the weatherstripping trim fall down on the posterior portion of the sunroof. It doesn't affect leaking, etc, but it rattles every now and then. Was going to have to pull the whole headliner down to fix it, so I'm leaving it for now...
