I'll start by saying that I have searched and read through a number of leaky sunroof threads. Lots of great info of course but nothing that describes my issue specifically.
Problem: I have a 2000 LC with a leaky sunroof. Issue is in the pass front corner. Rather than building up around the drain holes and spilling over, the water is actually building up inside the plastic trim aka "side garnish" that is attached to the sunroof glass on the interior side. Water builds up, then trickles out directly onto the headliner and down to the passenger seat. In heavy rain it's a steady and serious drip.
Anyone else have this kind of issue? Anyone ever pull the side garnish off from the inside?
All four drain holes are free and clear and move water out of the side channels quickly. It seems like the problem water must be going through the rubber seal on the top of the glass in order to get into the plastic garnish. Never even makes it to the drain channels. But the seal looks completely fine up top.
Any insight would be appreciated. Pics attached.
