What are the OEM colors of a 40?

I only know that 78 had Freeborn Red, Beige, white,Yellow (think mustard), Rustic Green, Olive and Sky Blue. Though I'm sure someone will probably point out that I'm wrong....I'm trying to build up my 40 knowledge : )

There's never been a black 40?

Hey guys I just found nice 80s '96 but truck doesn't have lockers. If anyone have idea how much cost me to put ARB locks on it??? Thanks..

Yeah the guy I had do it is pricey but does quality work. And with ARB's it's all about the quality of the install.

this is how I do it:

you'll need to find a complete front axle or minimal a housing and front diff. and then the rear diff and short side inner axle. The rear locking third drops into the non-locked housing with very little work but the front is a different story.

The front housing with diff and the rear third and inner axle would require using the existing axles on the truck for the missing parts (birfs, hubs, brakes, ect). This does help with shipping costs and purchase price.

Then you'll need

switch
ecu
front and rear drop harness
rear cross harness
and then you'll need to add 5 wires to the floor harness unless it's a 1997 Lexus

This will make it 100% factory. There is some short cuts on the wiring but I don't like to stray from the factory setup so all the factory manuals still apply to the change.

I had someone just bring me a truck for this conversion. He got a very good deal on an amazingly clean truck. Since all the axle PM work was needed anyway the swap really wasn't that bad considering the swap and PM happened simultaneously.

Confirmed that it WAS an extension cord going to the block of a covered 80 I've kept in my radar. Hmmm... gotta knock on that door soon...
