Hi folks, any suggestions for some good forest service road rides in the above areas? Water crossings, remote roads, etc.? Not looking for hardcore wheeling this trip just some out back of beyond rides with the kids in our Hundy.

We've done Rich Mtn Wma when open, Dolly Gap in the Cohuttas, Sea Creek Falls, etc.

Most of the usual suspects.

Thanks in advance.

We have couple rides coming up this year that are geared to less hardcore groups. Geo North GA and practice Cooper . I know of some good trails in North GA that need a scouting. I am not going into detail here. Give me a pm and we can plan a ride.

Here are a couple of possibilities, the experienced folks here probably know more about these areas:
Upper Hightower Rd from Tate City west across Blue Ridge Gap – rode it several years back, it crosses the Tallulah River at Tate City, then a couple of smaller streams. There is at least one really old family cemetery along there.

Have heard that Helton Creek Rd from US19 (near Vogel State Park) to SR348 crosses a couple of small streams, but I’ve never been on it.

I’ve heard that Tray Mtn Rd from SR75 just north of Helen is pretty good.

I’ve recently been on some of the FS roads in the Dial/Skeenah area, fun for me but probably too tame for the old hands. But there may be some interesting spurs off these roads, like a recently logged area along FS95 south of Morganton (this is USNF, is it OK to hop off the FS road in a place like this?)
I just got my FJ60 (first 4x4 in almost 20 years) and just starting to explore. As a newbie to the club and trailing in North GA, I’m very interested in this upcoming trip. I’m willing to do some scouting after mid-March, especially in the Ellijay to Clayton, south of US76 area.

Check your visitor messages. Tried to send you a PM, but I think it's on your visitor page.
