So what’s the verdict on this?
I did the refoam kit on the fronts and sub. Fronts sound great tbh, but the sub...I get the vibe a coil is blown, there’s some type of almost metallic reverb from the sub (not the panel) with certain bass freqs. I’m ready to pull the plug on the 8” Bazooka dvc, unless anyone has advice otherwise? 8” 8-ohm or 6.5” 8-ohm or go 16, I saw someone mention?
I have a ‘05 LX with ML, so I don’t remember how many wires ran into the stock sub - 4? Wondering how those will be plugged into the Bazooka.

It works great! I think this may be a good option for anybody without much knowledge about audio systems (like myself) who wants a simple solution. It is reasonably cheap, easy to setup if you just strap it down in back and aren't building any custom setup, and much better bass than the OEM unit while still using the factory Amp. I don't see any power drops while using so it seems well-matched.
I got the BT8028DVC model, 8" speaker, 8ohm with Dual Voice Coils. @LonghornLX was exceptionally helpful in guiding me to this option and how to wire it up.

Enclosure for speaker is going to maximize your bass. So that bazooka tube will likely be a better solution over just trying to drop in a new sub...the factory Enclosure sealed air space is small.
So I’m thinking of ordering the Bazooka 10” 8-ohm SVC. Seems like that would be ideal, the efficiency is great - just wish it went lower than 39hz, but the “tube” should help with that in the back of the LX. I’m almost thinking the seats being up And it being a 10” will even help give more of a hit to the bass.
Do you think that’s overkill? Any advantage for using a DVC? I don’t really want to do the series/parallel thing unless there’s a benefit - if that’s the case could I not get a good Kicker or JL 4-ohm DVC in a good ported box?
I feel I’m beating a dead horse, but I’m not worried about losing a little cargo area for something that makes the most of whatever power does go to the factory sub.

How are you guys planning on wiring the Bazooka tube. Which wires are you running to the tube and what configuration are you wiring the sub?
Mine has 2 wires coming in, so it’s an easy hookup. I believe some of the LXs and the LCs have 4, which I’ve attached for you to see.
I’m just wondering if the 10” would be overkill, but it’s responsive from like 6 watts - 400 rms I believe. I’m just thinking about the tube an enclosure, and if it’s 8-ohm the size shouldn’t matter I wouldn’t think.
